The 5 member group known as f(x) 에프엑스 made their debut in September of 2009. This group has a truly international representation. (left to right) First we have the leader Song Qian (Victoria)
who is from China. Next is Amber
Josephine Liu (Amber) an American of Taiwanese descent. In the center is the
maknae Jung Soo Jung 정수정 (Krystal) another American but of Korean
descent. She is the younger sister of Jessica from Girls Generation. The two
remaining ladies are both Koreans. First is Choi Jin Ri 최진리 (Sulli)
and then Park Sun Young박선영 (Luna).
Their
latest song/video is called Electric Shock 전기 충격. This is a fast paced song with
a catchy chorus. It talks about how the love of her man has her in shock. How
she is losing herself to the overwhelming power of love like a Black Hole. Feeling
the fever and how it sends waves through her. How his eyes are like lasers. The Electric “Shock” of it all hampers her
senses.
The sets
are that of simple stages with rather elaborate lighting backgrounds that simulate
electricity running through circuit pathways. There are no matching costumes as we
see in many other groups. Instead it seems to be up to each member as to what
she wants to wear. This is true to most of f(x)’s performances.
The
dance choreography as in their other works is quite complicated. As many other
groups seem to be doing more story telling instead of dance routines, f(x) 에프엑스 still gives us the dance. All in all I like this and
hope to see more from them in the near future.
I have
decided NOT to let the big Music Mogals stop me or let the music die. I will
continue to review and promote Kpop. I thank those of you who have stayed with
me and supported me.
Until
next time,
festus
